Items and weapons: what should you carry?

Choose items and weapons in Halloween: The Game around escape requirements, defensive openings and team resources, with notes on unverified damage values.

Official sources · Reviewed September 7, 2026. Gameplay can change between builds. Tactical recommendations below are editorial advice, not measured rankings.

What gets priority in a crowded inventory?

Use this editorial order as a decision aid, not a fixed tier list:

  1. A required item for an escape your team can complete.
  2. A defensive tool you understand and can use reliably.
  3. Recovery or support for an immediate team need.
  4. Extra equipment that only helps a hypothetical fight.

When should I swing a bat or use a knife?

Check the current item tooltip and available action first. Similar-looking equipment may have different roles. Spend it to buy a concrete outcome: a rescue, a safe crossing, or an exit. We do not publish an unverified guarantee that a knife always breaks a grab.

Is a police wagon just another escape car?

Treat the wagon notification described in detainment reports as part of the arrest sequence. Do not assume it works like a repaired civilian vehicle. See the arrest guide before changing the team’s plan.

Where are the exact damage tables?

They remain unverified. Recording weapon, character, version and target state is necessary before two damage observations can be compared. The Ancient Amulet note illustrates how uncertain item behavior is marked here.
