Crossplay, friends & matchmaking troubleshooting

Understand crossplay versus cross-progression, then check versions and party settings before retrying a failed lobby.

Can PC, PS5 and Xbox play together?

Crossplay support and the lack of cross-progression are described in the linked September 5 guide. Treat a supported feature separately from whether it is currently working on every platform. This site does not have live server telemetry.

Why does joining a friend fail?

  1. Both players should fully close the game and install available updates.
  2. Compare the version visible in each client. A platform waiting for a patch can have a different build.
  3. Check the crossplay and party settings in both clients.
  4. Recreate the party after updating. Try each player as host once.
  5. Record the exact error, platform pair, version and time if the failure repeats.

How long should matchmaking take?

There is no reliable universal queue-time number. Region, time of day, role demand and current service issues matter. A single long queue does not establish a server outage. Repeatedly cancelling also makes your own timing comparison less useful.

Use Hotfix 1 notes to distinguish a documented fix from a suggested workaround. Never download an unofficial “online fix” to solve account or party errors.
