How should I approach a chapter?
Read the full challenge list first, then identify conditions involving a specific character, object or moment. Those are usually more restrictive than general objectives. Make a separate attempt for a difficult condition if trying everything together causes repeated failure.
Why didn’t a challenge count?
Check the exact wording, whether the action occurred before the scene advanced, and whether your build has the current patch. Hotfix 1 addressed several tracking problems, but the notes do not identify every affected challenge. That does not establish that every unregistered action is a bug.
Which challenge route should I open?
| Stuck on | Start here |
|---|---|
| A missing orderly or a failed stealth attempt | Prologue: all six challenges |
| The bar, broken pool cue or cleaver | Chapter 1 challenge checklist |
| Dead-End Job or a target-specific kill | Chapter 2 and Challenge 6 |
| Preserving Chapter 4’s scripted windows | Chapter 4 overview |
| The Annie, Bob, Lynda and Laurie sequence | Chapter 4 Challenge 6 |
These routes identify their community sources and distinguish reported steps from confirmed patch changes. Chapter 3 and Chapter 5 do not yet have dedicated walkthroughs here.
Does story mode unlock multiplayer cosmetics?
The official single-player announcement describes unlockable cosmetics and additional rewards. Read the reward listed for the specific challenge. Story scenes also recreate film imagery; they should not be mistaken for a frame-for-frame transcription of every event in the movie.
